Introduction
In order to let improve our leadership skills and independence, our college and Hong Kong Outward Bound School jointly organized a training program. The 7-day course offered a chance for a team to work closely with one another in order to face both physical and mental challenges in the adverse environment. Moreover, they need to learn to be independent, to coordinate with others and trust on his/her teammates in order to build a good team and discover his/her potential. Students who were interested in self-enhancement applied for the awards. As the number of applicants were for more than the places offered, we needed to undergo several tests and interviews for selecting twelve students who had clear personal goal and were really willing to develop own potential. Apart from this, we also needed to undergo some tests in order to test whether the health and physical condition were fit for this training. We concluded that this chance for the twelve Outward Bounders was really "Not Easy To Get!" On 8 Sept, we began the course by setting our own personal target while on 14 Sept, we finished the course by the slogan "To Serve To Strive and Not To Yield". We had gained so many 'forever friends'. In addition, we had learnt and experienced what the beginner of the Outward Bound School said, "We realized that the actual ability of everyone is higher than what he imagined and we are not satisfied on what we can get right now." On behalf of our college, we would like to give thanks to our sponsor for offering us this chance to have that fantastic trip. The aim of this homepage is to share the experience of the seven adventure days of the twelve Outward Bounders on how they breakthrough himself/herself and what they have learnt. Let us adjust the clock and rewind to the day of 8 September 1998............ ¡@ |
